Petrina embodies two trends, what I call "the eccentric pop" mixed with regional and traditional musical style. I put her name among those of Franz Ferdinand, Imogen Heap, Radiohead and Florence and the Machine, all artists who are stretching the song form and the accompanying music to their limits, but still maintaining that song thing that draws you in as a listener.
[ David Byrne ]
What a fresh sounding landscape full of gems. Petrina is so gifted and such musically aware artist. I love her singing. Her voice is beautifully suited to the music she makes and really draws the listener in.
[ Terry Riley ]
Petrina is one of the most original artists that have emerged over the last decade.
Multiple, and multiplying art.

Petrina
They have tried to define her in every way, bothering Laurie Anderson and Tori Amos, Regina Spektor and the progressive... Petrina is certainly among the most original and delightfully visionary artists of recent times.
[BLOW UP]
I am a composer and songwriter.
My instruments are my voice and my piano, but on stage I am armed also with synthesizer, organs, and two electric guitars.
I am a dancer too, performer and writer.
I have recorded six albums of songs (Ala Bianca and Tuk Voice, with guests like David Byrne, John Parish, Elliott Sharp and Jherek Bischoff), and four albums as a contemporary pianist (OgreOgress and Stradivarius), with world premieres by Morton Feldman and Sylvano Bussotti.
I have got the Ciampi Award in 2007, and I'm the only Italian singer-songwriter whose songs David Byrne has released in his favorite radio playlists, besides Carmen Consoli.
I have recomposed a piece by John Cage. Its historic publishers, the famous Edition Peters, have liked it. They have decided to publish the score with my name next to the one of the American composer. The title is Roses of the Day.
My interpretation of Only, piece for solo voice by Morton Feldman contained in this album, has been included by Chris Villars in his Morton Feldman Page, world point of reference for all concerning the American composer's works.
In October 2022 my fifth album as a songwriter has been released by AlterErebus. The title is L'ETA' DEL DISORDINE (The Age of Disorder), and it is my first album of songs entirely in Italian.
In the same year, in September, the NUOVOMONDO SYMPHONIES have been also released, an album that I composed together with Giovanni Mancuso. The album has triggered the enthusiasm of Terry Riley and has been released by zOaR Records (New York), the label founded by Elliott Sharp.
I have been collaborating for years with writer Tiziano Scarpa (Premio Strega / Einaudi) in the show "Le cose che succedono di notte" (Things that happen at night). Tiziano Scarpa has also written a long afterword to my first self-produced book, "Se li sogni sono segni" (If you dream them, they are signs).
I have played at the DC Jazz Festival in Washington, Madrid Jazz Festival, Mills College in Oakland, Conway Hall in London, Roldàn Theatre in La Havana, in the historical clubs The Stone (founded by John Zorn) and Barbès in New York, at Seaprog Festival in Seattle, at Platoon Kunsthalle in Berlin.
I have been invited by the Italian Culture Institute of New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, Istanbul, Madrid, Addis Abeba, Sydney and Strasbourg, and I have played in some of the most important Italian theaters and festivals.
I am regularly hosted by the RSI, the Italian Switzerland Radio.
In October 2023 I have been invited to the International Women Jazz Festival, Sydney.
In the same month an important Italian literary magazine, 'TINA, has published a tale of mine.
